Elizabeth Paige is a Consultant in Addiction Medicine, with appointments at Wesley Hospital Kogarah and in the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District.
She completed her medical degree at The University of Newcastle, is a fellow and member of the Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry, in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Addiction Medicine.
Elizabeth has worked in the field of Addiction Medicine since 2006. She employs evidence-based pharmacological and psychological treatment approaches in her assessment and management of a variety of behavioural and substance addiction disorders. Elizabeth undertook further training in the assessment and management of pharmaceutical opioid misuse and non-therapeutic dependence and works collaboratively with Pain Physicians/Rehabilitations Specialist in achieving the best possible outcome for patients with chronic pain and problematic opioid use. She is an accredited prescriber of opiate substitution therapy, including suboxone and methadone.
Elizabeth holds the position of Staff Specialist in Addiction Medicine for the ISLHD Drug and Alcohol Service. She is an accredited supervisor for Drug and Alcohol training with the RANZCP and RACP in her public position.
She values working in partnership with her patients, their supports and other health care professionals, to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based management of co-morbid substance/addiction problems. She works closely in a collaborative approach with her psychiatric and psychological colleagues at Wesley Consulting Rooms, as well as in the inpatient setting at Wesley Hospital.
Availability: Thurs 9:00am – 1:00pm (every 2nd week)
