Dr Elizabeth Paige is a psychiatrist consulting in Addiction Medicine.

She completed her medical degree at The University of Newcastle, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and a member of the Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry (FAP). She is currently completing her second post-graduate Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Physicians, in Addiction Medicine.

Dr Paige has been working in the field of Addiction Psychiatry/Addiction Medicine since 2006 and now focuses on the growing area of Addiction Medicine. She employs evidence-based pharmacological and psychological treatment approaches in her assessment and management of a variety of Substance Use Disorders, including benzodiazepine, z-drugs, alcohol, stimulant, cannabis, nicotine and opioid problematic use and dependence.

Dr Paige was granted and undertook an Institute of Psychiatry Fellowship/Scholarship to further her training in the assessment and management of pharmaceutical opioid misuse and non-therapeutic dependence. This included treatment of patients with a background of chronic pain, working collaboratively with patients and their treating Pain Physicians/Rehabilitation specialists, to achieve the best possible outcome. She is an accredited prescriber of opiate substitution treatment (Methadone/Subutex/Suboxone).

Dr Paige holds the position of Staff Specialist, Addiction Medicine, for the Illawarra and Shoalhaven Local Health District Drug and Alcohol Service. She is an accredited supervisor for Drug and Alcohol training with the RANZCP and has been further involved in education and training as a member of the Subcommittee for Advanced Training in Addiction Psychiatry in NSW.

Dr Paige values working in partnership with her patients, their families/supports and health care professionals to provide a comprehensive management of Substance Use Problems and related disorders. She works in collaboration with her psychiatric and psychological colleagues at Wesley Consulting Rooms, to provide holistic care of co-morbid mental health conditions.

She is able to provide consultation for patients in both an outpatient and inpatient setting, in relation to addiction problems.

Availability: Mon 9:00am – 1:00pm every 2nd week /Thurs 9:00am – 1:00pm (every 2nd week)
